1. You must teach your dog to have good manners for his sake as well as his breed's reputation. To help with recognizing his outstanding nature, the AKC provides the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate. By obtaining this certificate it will help you convince friends, neighbors and your landlord or an insurance agent that your Pit Bull is a well behaved, well trained and a model canine citizen. Your dog doesn't have to be a purebred or an AKC-registered dog in order to enroll.
